Submit an Event by Email

ATTENTION!
You can always post your event online at
http://www.localwineevents.com/events/event_submit.php

Note
The two most common errors for this email submission system are:

1. Using a "city" that is not on my list (cities are listed below)

2. Forgetting to hit "reply" before trying to fill in the template

Submission Details
The email address for this feature is Submit@localwineevents.com This is a fully automated system. Please do not send in comments, questions or remarks, as it cannot respond to those. Click here if you wish to contact me.

Send a blank email to the submit address and it will respond with a template. Reply to that message with the appropriate details. You can use this system three different ways.
You can't send the information as an attachment.

1. Email (plain text or HTML)
Send a blank email to Submit@localwineevents.com Keep the email and "reply" to it with the information. Just re-use the same email for future events.

2. Newsletter (plain text or HTML)
Write your newsletter with the 'tags' below letting your customers know of events and include Submit@localwineevents.com in your mailing list.

3. Emailing your events webpage (Internet Explorer only)
If you set up your "Events" page using the 'tags' below, you can email the page to Submit@localwineevents.com using Internet Explorer. Go to Tools-Mail and News-Send Page.

Here is how it works. You need to preface the event information in the email with a "tag" to tell my system where the info goes. The tags are listed below. They must include the colon.

Event Name:
City:
Phone:
Email:
Start Date:
End Date:
Event Time:
Location:
Cost:
Notes:
Website Name:
URL:
Username:

1. The required tags are Event Name, City, Start Date, and either Phone or Email

2. You can post more than one event, but they must be separated by a blank line, then the next event needs it’s own tags starting with Event Name

3. Send the email to the "submit" address.

4. You can't send the information as an attachment.

If you send a blank email to Submit@localwineevents.com the system will respond with a template that will include all the tags for your reference. Please let me know if you do use this system so I can watch for bugs.

Below are some notes on each of the tag fields.

Tag Field Notes
Event Name
(required)
This tag must be first.DO NOT USE ALL CAPS!
I suggest that you use your establishment name in the name of the event, but there is an 80 character limit. That is this long, such as:
111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111
It also must include the tag. Avoid punctuation.
City
(required)
Must be a city on my list or you can use the city code. Both are posted below. The closer you are to exactly the way they are on my list, the more certain it will be to match. Using the city code below is the surest thing.
Only the code or the city name, not both.
Phone or Email
(one is required)
One or the other is required.
Start Date
(required)
The system will take dates written in various formats.

City Codes
